About #GoBR Living

My name is Michael. I’m a web and graphic designer and I am in the process of moving to Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

I like to write and I like to take photographs so I thought it’d be fun to document our relocation process in addition to all of the things I learned about Baton Rouge while on this new adventure. I want this blog to not only be a chronicle of our journey, but a way for people to find inspiration and cool things to do in this beautiful city and state.

My wife and I have lived in Upstate New York almost all of our lives and this move is both exciting and scary. We’re leaving our friends, our family, and just about everything we’ve known for a new experience down South.

Based on the very few experiences we’ve had so far in Baton Rouge, and on the very few interactions we’ve had with the people who live here, we already know that we’ve made the right decision. We look forward to this new chapter in our lives.

This is our story.

I just wanted to welcome you and your wife to our great city of Baton Rouge. I know that you’ve been here several months now. I began reading your blog after Holly Clegg posted a link on FB. I’m looking forward to reading what you have to say about BR and LA. It will be interesting to see my hometown through the eyes of someone new to the city/state and I am looking forward to what you can teach me about the area as I am sure there are things here that I have yet to discover or I have grown so accustomed to that I take them for granted.

BTW, I love Matherne’s, too, but if you haven’t been to Calandro’s on the corner of Seigen and Perkins Rd., you are in for a treat!

    Once again, welcome to BR.

Thank you, Lori! Everyone in Baton Rouge has been so warm and welcoming. I am loving it here! I actually only moved down full-time a couple of weeks ago. My wife has been here for a few months already.

So I’m just getting started exploring the town. I love to eat, and I just bought a GPS, so I’m ready to blog!

Thanks again, Lori. See you around town sometime!
